#LagosLGelections: Stakeholders Sue For Peace And Progress
Now that the Local Government Elections have come and gone, it is time for the winners to hit the ground running by fulfilling the promises made during the campaign.
This was contained in a recent statement made by the Chairman, APC Scandinavian, Mr. Ayoola Lawal.
He urged the elected representatives to make good their electoral promises by delivering the dividends of democracy to the electorate.
“Astute leadership and an all inclusive governance should be the focus, irrespective of party affiliations”.
“It is time for the winners to forge cooperation across board with all and sundry in bringing peace and development to Lagos State”, he said.
The party stalwart also called on the electorate to protect their votes by making the elected officials accountable, and to stick to their right of recall of any representative who exhibits mediocrity while serving.
He urged all aggrieved parties to follow due process in challenging the outcome and addressing whatever grievances they have.
“It is high time our democracy began to grow and show good spirit of sportsmanship”, he concluded
The residents and people of Lagos State had braved the weather on Saturday to elect their representatives into the local governments and LCDAs in an election that majority considered to be free and fair.
Lagosians thronged out to perform their civic responsibility with the hope that their elected representatives will bring development to their various constituencies.
