2019:Court ban APC guber candidate in Taraba over age falsification
Ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial poll a Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, Taraba State has disqualified All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Sani Daladi for falsifying age in documents submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).
Ruling, Justice Steven Pam says in affidavit supporting the APC flag bearer’s particulars which claimed he was born 14 February, 1968 was in variance with same claim in his West African Senior School certificate which states he was actually born on 3rd April, 1977.
Taraba State chapter of All Progressives Congress is mobilising its teeming supporters for the party’s gubernatorial victory on Saturday.
The party says it will not be rattled by the court’s ruling that disqualified it’s candidate on age falsification.
The party chairman, Mr Ibrahim El-Sudi Tukur, while addressing press conference insisted that Sani Danladi will still contest just as the party would appeal against what he described as mischievous and comical judgement.
Some party supporters faulted the judgement which they believe would not stand against test of time.
The Electoral Commission (INEC) denied the judgement against APC candidate.
The INEC Resident Commissioner insisted that Danladi remains APC candidate unless there is a documented directive contrary to that.
