Just In: Edo speaker tests positive for Covid-19, Governor goes into self Isolation
Governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki has gone into self-isolation and sent his samples for testing.
This follows the close contact he has with some of the confirmed cases.
A statement by the special adviser to the governor on Media and communication strategy, Crusoe Osagie, said although the governor is not showing any symptoms of the virus, he has taken the necessary precaution to self-isolate to protect people that may otherwise come in contact with him.
Governor Obaseki had in the past few days had meetings with the governor of Bauchi state and the Chief of staff to the President who both tested positive yesterday.
It is also confirm that the the only confirmed covid-19 case in Edo state so far, is the speaker of the state house of assembly, Frank Okiye.
