2020, a very challenging year for Nigeria’s football- NFF President

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has described the year 2020 as a very challenging year for the country’s football but assured that better days lie ahed in the coming year.

Pinnick who stated this during an exclusive chat with TVC News in Lagos, appealled for more support in the coming year, as the Country continues its AFCON Qualifying campaign and begins it’s Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Nigeria ended the year 2020 with the Flying Eagles crashing at the group stages of the WAFU Championship qualifiers for the Under 20 AFCON and World Cup, with two of the country’s clubside failing to advance beyond the preliminary stages of CAF Club Competitions.

The Super Eagles ranked 35th in the World and joint 4th in Africa, currently tops their AFCON qualifying group with Eight points from 4 matches and will play against Cape Verde, Liberia and the Central African Republic in the first round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, next year.
