All Progressives Congress (APC) youths in Kano held a solidarity march on Sunday for Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate.
The rally, tagged ‘one-million-man PVC march’, was organised to galvanise support for the APC presidential campaign.
Director of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign support group, Baffa Babba DanAgundi said the march was held to sensitise loyalists on the importance of collecting their permanent voter cards.
Son of the APC presidential candidate, Seyi Tinubu led the rally which paralysed commercial activities for several hours in the cosmopolitan city.
Speaking at the event, Abdullahi Ganduje, Kano state governor, said “we planned this one million PVC show walk to demonstrate that the state is for Tinubu”.
“In Kano state, there is no crisis within the rank and file members of the APC and we are all united to work for the victory of our party in 2023,” he added.
Ganduje said despite the existence of other political parties in Kano, the APC is in “full control” of the state.
“You can see that we promised one million PVCs show walk, but the event has turned to three million, a situation that indicated that the state is for APC’s presidential candidate in 2023,” he said.
The procession which kicked off at the Emir of Kano’s palace ended at the Kano government house while the governor addressed the crowd at the Race Course.
