Nigerian Afrobeats superstars, Burna Boy and Wizkid are out setting standards and putting Nigeria on the map as they got nominated for Best International Act at the 2021 BET Awards.
BET made the year’s nominees reflect an abundance of creative expression and Black excellence across music, television, film, and sports

We broke ground as one of the first official awards shows to move forward during the global pandemic and we are ready to take our pioneer status to the next level with the return of an audience to celebrate the best and brightest creative minds in the entertainment industry.”
Last year 2020 BET Awards, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Rema were the only Nigerians nominated in three different categories. Burna Boy was nominated for Best International Act, Wizkid for HER Award and Rema for Best New Act; Burna Boy was the only act that won his category, he came out victorious at the 2020 BET Awards as the Best International Act.
This year 2021 BET Awards Burna Boy got nominated again and this time Wizkid joins him in the same category. Both act were nominated alongside; AyaNakamuraa (France), Youssouphamusik (France), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Emicida (Brazil), Headieone (UK) and Young Tand Bugsey (UK).
The 2021 award show is scheduled to broadcast LIVE onSunday, June 27, 2020.
