The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) is rejoicing with Nigerians especially the Muslim Ummah in celebrating the Eid-El Kabir festivities.
In a statement issued by the head, Public Relations & Protocol, Mrs. Toyin Aderibigbe, she urged Muslim faithfuls to use the important occasion as a call for reflection on the important lessons of sacrifice, dedication, love, care and unity brought by Eid-El-Kabir.
According to her, the Director General, National Agency for the Control of AIDS, Dr. Gambo Aliyu is calling on Nigerians from different walks of life to continue to avoid all forms of risky behaviors that predisposes to HIV and AIDS especially during this festive season.
“He is also urging all Nigerians to show love and care to persons living with HIV/AIDS stigma and avoid discrimination against persons living with HIV in order to help curb the spread the virus.
“Celebrate with caution and remember to test to know your HIV status as it remains the gateway to HIV/AIDS care, treatment, prevention and control.
“You may also take advantage of HIV self-testing kit to test yourself to know your HIV status and remember to observe COVID-19 protocols”.
