Electricity Workers Shut Down Operations, Blackout Nationwide

The National Union of Electricity Employees have shut down operations nationwide.

The Organized Labour in the nation’s power sector gave the Minister of State for Power, Goddy Jedy-Agba and the management of Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, up till this Wednesday morning to address their demands or workers would commence indefinite strike today as planned.

The union is protesting the directive by the TCN Board that all principal managers, in acting capacity going to Assistant General Managers, AGM, must appear for a promotion interview, among others.

According to the organisai, the directive is in contravention of the Conditions of Service and Career Progression Paths, unilaterally done without relevant stakeholders.
