Financial autonomy: Lagos JUSUN relaxes strike, opens courts between Wednesdays – Fridays

The Lagos chapter of the Judiciary staff Union of Nigeria has relaxed the Nationwide strike it joined in on April the 6th.

Now, the State’s JUSUN Chairman, Kehinde Shobowale has ordered that courts be reopened for only skeletal work, between Wednesdays to Fridays, especially for matters that have to do with fundamental human rights of inmates, that will aid the decongestion of the correctional centres in the state.

He also says that this decision is based on the interest of JUSUN members in the state.

In the latest memo, the Union’s leadership in the state also insisted on the clamour for the outstanding 25% Financial Autonomy in Lagos State Judiciary and to feel the impact of the 75% which the Chief Judge claimed is already existent in the state.
