Former PM Pahimi Padacké to lead Chad’s transitional government

Pahimi Padacké Albert has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Chad.

The announcement was made by the head of the transitional government in a decree read on Monday by the spokesperson for the transitional military council, CMT.

Padacké, 54, came in second in the April 11 election, and previously served as the country’s Prime Minister from the year 2016-2018. He had been appointed by Former Chad’s President Idriss Deby.

In a decree signed by the Country’s head General Mahamat Kaka, the president of the national transition commission also appointed Mr. Idriss Youssouf Boy as his private secretary.
