Importation of Indomie Noodles Prohibited in Nigeria — NAFDAC

The National Agency for Food and Dr¥gs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has disclosed that importation of Indomie noodles is banned in Nigeria.

Director-general of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, who made this known in a statement on Monday, May 1, said the product is one of the foods on the government prohibition list.

According to her, “It should be noted that indomie noodles have been banned from being imported into the country for many years. It is one of the foods on the government prohibition list. It is not allowed in Nigeria, and therefore not registered by NAFDAC.”

She noted that the agency is aware of the recalls of Indomie Instant Noodles “special chicken flavour” by Malaysia and Taiwan on the account of alleged presence of a cancer causing compound.

She further assured the public that the agency will remain alive to the responsibility of safeguarding the health of the public.
