Armed bandits have abducted the Emir of Kajuru in Kaduna state, Alhassan Adamu and 13 members of his family.
Police in the state have confirmed the incident, saying the 85 year old second class ruler was kidnapped after bandits invaded his palace around 11:30 Sunday night.
The bandits who were heavily armed stormed the community in large numbers and blocked major roads shooting sporadically.
This left residents in fear as they abducted the Emir and 13 members of his family among them three women, two of his grandchildren, three aides and five others.
The abduction of the Emir is coming six days after 121 students were abducted from Bethel Baptist College in Maraban Rido in Chikun local government area of the state.
Kajuru local government area is about 30 kilometres from the Kaduna state capital.
