Youth stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kwara South senatorial district have called for the removal of the minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, over his alleged anti-party activities.
The minister had called for the cancellation of the ongoing APC membership registration and revalidation exercise saying it is in favour of the governor’s camp.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Wednesday, the leaders of the youth group, Mallam Tiamiyu Mumini and Mr Waheed Olarewaju in company of other members, condemned a recent call for cancellation of the ongoing membership registration and revalidation exercise of the party by the minister.
The APC youth, who said that they would present their resolution to remove the minister before party leaders and the Presidency, added that they would move for his suspension from the party if the minister is not removed.
The APC youth also said that the massive turnout of people for the registration exercise should be a thing of joy for the minister if he has interest of the party at heart, adding that his call for cancelation of the exercise is anti-party activity.
The group described the ongoing party registration exercise as peaceful and orderly, saying that it is achieving desired results of capturing data of party members.
