The Ogun State Government has suspended the Commissioner for Environment, Abiodun Abudu-Balogun from office over alleged sexual harassment of a 16-year-old girl.
The Government says the suspension would last pending the conclusion of the police’s investigation into the allegation.
The suspension was contained in a statement issued in Abeokuta by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi.
It added that the suspension of the commissioner would enable him to cooperate fully with the independent investigation being carried out by the Police.
A video containing the allegation against the Commissioner had gone viral on social media on Saturday, 2nd January, 2021 and in a swift reaction to the matter, the Commissioner denied the allegation, describing it as a political blackmail from his adversaries.
