The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has directed all its branch chairmen nationwide to withdraw their services effective 12 midnight on Sunday 8th November, 2020.
This was stated in a statement issued by the General Secretary of the Organisation, Comrade Lumumba OIghotemu Okugbawa. He ordered all Zonal offices to monitor compliance and report same to the National secretariat.
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) had earlier threatened to shut down oil and gas facilities and distribution of petroleum products across the country over breach of agreement on the implementation of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) to their members by the Federal Government.
In a letter jointly signed by the unions and issued to the ministry of Labour and Employment, the duo issued a 7-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to urgently address the situation.
The deadline expired yesterday night.
