The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has continued to declare results from the 2023 elections and below are nine major shockers so far:
- Labour Party Presidential Candidate Peter Obi defeats Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the presidential elections in Lagos.
Scores: 582,454 votes to 572, 606 votes. - PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar wins the Presidential election in Katsina State where the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari hails from.
Scores: 489,045 votes to 482,283 votes. - Senator representing Kano South senatorial district, Ibrahim Kabiru Gaya, of the All Progressive Congress (APC) loses to New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila.
Scores: 10,079 votes to 18,419 votes - Kano State Governor, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje loses Dawakin-Tofa local government council to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, Engr presidential candidate. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Scores: 16,773 Votes to 5,072 votes. - APC Chairman Adamu loses polling unit to Labour Party
Scores: 132 votes to 85 votes. - Gov Ayade Loses C’River North Senatorial Election to PDP Senator Jarigbe
Scores: 56, 595 votes to 76,145 votes. - Enugu State Governor, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi loses senatorial bid to Labour Party candidate.
Scores: 46,948 votes to 104,492 votes. - Donatus Matthew, of the Labour Party (LP) defeats a four-term lawmaker representing Kaura Federal Constituency in Kaduna State House of Representatives Minority Chief Whip Gideon Gwani of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Scores: 10,508 votes against 10,297 - PDP’s Banky W, Babjide Obanikoro of the APC lose to Mr Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party in the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat
Scores: PDP -18,666 votes ; APC – 16, 901 votes ; LP – 24,075 votes
