Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has secured the release of twenty six kidnapped minors in the state.
The victims who are between the ages of 8 and 12 are indigenes of Katsina state.
They were abducted by bandits in Faskari local government area of the state and taken to bandit camps in Zamfara state.
Governor Bello Matawalle says the victims have been released through negotiations with the state Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs.
The Zamfara state governor says his administration will not abandon the peace dialogue initiative with bandits as fire power alone cannot solve the problem of banditry in the state.
The latest rescue of kidnapped victims brings the total number of those released by bandits in the last one week to forty five.
